Overview

A magazine shaped by collage and contrast

Retrovibe combines archival music photography, collage, typography and selective colour to create a consistent visual rhythm across the cover and interior spreads.

The Challenge

The imagery spans different artists, periods and visual treatments, so the editorial system needed to create cohesion without losing the character of each feature.

The Approach

A collage grid allows photography to overlap and layer across the cover and spreads, while monochrome imagery, duotone treatments and selective colour create cohesion without making each feature feel identical.
